Vision and Values

"Ready for University. Ready to Lead."

All young people will be ‘Ready for university, Ready to lead’ by the time that they leave Oasis Academy Silvertown.

‘Ready for university’ represents our commitment to academic excellence, the very best teaching and learning and opportunities for our students to explore their interests and strengths. This means that by the time that they leave us, they have the qualifications, choice, confidence and opportunity to step in to university, an apprenticeship, running their own business or success in their career.

‘Ready to lead’ speaks of the strength of character, confidence and proactive approach that we teach and develop in our students so that they become people who can speak up, make decisions, support others and make a difference in their communities.

This vision will be achieved through relentlessly high aspirations for every child, a commitment to strong relationships and the living out of our 5 Be’s.

  • Be proud: We are proud of everything that makes us who we are: our story, family, race, strengths, religion and interests. We are proud to be a part of the Oasis Academy Silvertown community.
  • Be professional: We take our education seriously, knowing that every minute matters. Our professionalism is seen in our uniform, our timekeeping, our conduct and our readiness to learn.
  • Be nice: We know that strong character and strong relationships are central to all success and everything that we do. We develop our character through the 9 Habits.
  • Be resilient: We believe that success is a result of hard work, that failure and set backs are a part of the process and that we can get a little better every day, at our learning, in our character and in our relationships with others.
  • Be independent: We know that to become leaders we need to be independent in the way that we organise ourselves being ready to learn, in our ability to make choices and decisions and in pursuing our own interests.

OCL_TRUST_LOGO.png

We are privileged to be one of the largest and fastest growing multi-Academy sponsors in England, with over 40 Academy schools opened since 2004.

Our mission is to create and sustain a network of excellent learning communities where pupils can realise their full potential.

We are proud of the progress that Oasis Academies are making towards delivering an exceptional standard of education. Across the Oasis family of Primary Academies, the progress that pupils make is above the national average and, in 2015, this meant that 76% of pupils achieved at least Level 4 in Reading, Writing and Maths.

In Secondary Academies there has been a 14% improvement in the headline attainment measure of 5A*-C including English and Maths despite the more rigorous way this is being calculated.

As well as delivering first-class and innovative education, Oasis builds 'Hubs' in the places it works. Hubs provide integrated and diverse services to benefit the whole community. Through our exceptional education, we can achieve our vision of improving lives by bringing inclusion, opportunity and community transformation.
